The MaxSignal® Chloramphenicol ELISA Kit is a competitive enzyme immunoassay for the quantitative analysis of chloramphenicol. Chloramphenicol is a broad spectrum antibiotic which is frequently employed in animal production due to its antibacterial and pharmacokinetic properties. However, in humans it leads to hemato-toxic side effects. This has led to its prohibition in the treatment of animals in the food industry. It enables international and government regulatory agencies, food manufacturers, processors, and quality assurance organizations, to detect chloramphenicol in various sample types and to satisfy customer concerns about food safety.
