Purity: IL-2 is a powerful immunoregulatory lymphokine produced by T-cells in response to antigenic or mitogenic stimulation. Greater than 98% by SDS-PAGE gel and HPLC analyses. Cross Reactivity: Human. IL-2 stimulates growth and differentiation of B-cells, NK cells, lymphokine activated killer cells, monocytes, macrophages and oligodendrocytes.  
Biological Activity: Recombinant murine IL-2 is a 17.2 kDa protein, containing 149 amino acid residues. The ED50 as determined by the dose dependent stimulation of murine CTLL-2 cells is < 0.2 ng/ml, corresponding to a specific activity of > 5 x 106 units/mg. IL-2/IL-2R signaling is required for T-cell proliferation and other fundamental functions which are essential for the immune response.
