Using only the best raw materials, Raja-Lovejoy®has developed a flexible coupling for High Torque Applications and Transmissions (FTC).
The type BR Flexible Couplings are more compact in design and efficiency, yet have similar dimensions of the rigid and semi-rigid couplings. They can transmit torque values between 4.000 Nm and 250.000 Nm, while keeping their capacity to absorb the shaft misalignments, vibrations, and torque fluctuations.
The coupling protects and increases the working lift of the rest of the working components within the application. The type BR couplings do not require lubrication, minimizing the corrective and preventative maintenance to the coupling. Coupling inspection can also be performed without any type of disassembly. All Gummi products are backed by our standard warranty, and are manufactured under the ISO 9001/2000 Quality Management System.
General Characteristics
Misalignment Solutions
Misalignment is the cause of breakage in bearings, as well as the other components of the machine (seals, gaskets, gears), which are not normally prepared for the inflection upon the axis. The primary features like: elasticity, misalignment compensation, and shock absortion, the Gummi Flexible is the solution in reducing the efforts of the machines components while increasing their useful life.
Simple Installation
The replacement is simpler and faster because it is comprised of only one rubber element. Using smaller alignment tolerances allows the element to extend the working life of its elastic center. It is not necessary to move the parts in order to replace the flexible element.
Symmetry - Security - Balance
Since the rubber element does not have any cuts in the elastic center, it has a guaranteed balance and no safety or security issues.
Vibration & Shock Load Dampening
The ability to absorb torsional vibrations and shocks extends the working life of the equipment or machine. The measurement of vibrations that are transmitted in a system, from one side to the other, is around 70%. This is minimized with the elastic center of the coupling's ability to absorb the shock loads and vibrations.
No Need to Lubricate
As a result of its design and constructive characteristics, the element does not require lubrication.
Economy
The working life capacity in the applications spare parts increases, reducing costly down time, minimizing the cost of replacement components, lubricants and inventory. The elastic center of the coupling works for a prolonged period of time without needing to be replaced.
SPIDEX® - the Elastic Coupling
Elastic couplings reduce intermittent short period torsional shocks, by briefly storing the shock energy. Any degree of uneven movement and load transfer is consequently reduced. Elastic couplings restrain body resonance, and therefore contribute to noise reduction. The elastic SPIDEX®- coupling transmits the torque safely preventing break-down.

DENTEX® FL flexible coupling
Die flexible Kupplung für Verbrennungsmotoren
The DENTEX®-Coupling is a flexible gear coupling, which whose typical features are two
congruent hubs with crowned teeth which transmit torque by meshing with the
internal toothing of a housing component. The coupling sleeve with axially parallel
involute gearing is centered at the tooth flanks of the coupling hub.
The coupling design meets the requirement to compensate radial, angular and
axial shaft displacements in order to release the neighbouring shaft bearings
from non-controlled, additional loads.
Even with the maximum permissible displacement edge, contact of the teeth is excluded and there will be no periodic variation of the angular velocity. The high internal cushioning properties of the plastic material used for the coupling sleeve reduce the effect of shock loading.
DENTEX®-Couplings are suitable both for horizontal and vertical shaft connection, for reversing and intermittent service. The steel/plastic combination also has the advantage that no lubrication by oil or grease is required; the coupling, therefore, does not need any maintenance.
The 6.6-polyamide used for the coupling sleeve excels by its excellent sliding properties and wear resistance especially by the combination of toughness, hardness and rigidity; it is also resistant to most oils and hydraulic fluids.
Maximum service reliability is guaranteed at temperatures in the range from -25 °C up to +80 °C. It is necessary to use a coupling sleeve in heat stabilised polyamide for temperature up to 140 °C.
